Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates are an irresistible combination of sweet and savory flavors, blending the rich, creamy texture of goat cheese with the natural sweetness of dates. This simple yet elegant appetizer is ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

  1. 12 Medjool dates, pitted
    4 oz goat cheese, softened
    1 tbsp honey (optional)
    1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Slice each date lengthwise and remove the pit.

  1. In a small bowl, combine the goat cheese, honey (if using), and cinnamon (if using). Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Using a spoon or a piping bag, stuff each date with the goat cheese mixture.
  3. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the stuffed dates for added crunch and flavor.
  4. Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary for a fragrant touch.
  5. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  1. For a smoky flavor, wrap each stuffed date in bacon and bake until crispy.
  2. For an Italian twist, wrap the dates in prosciutto.
  3. If you prefer a stronger flavor, substitute goat cheese with blue cheese.
  4. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or drizzle sriracha into the cheese filling.
  5. Maple syrup can replace honey for a different sweetener.
  6. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, but keep the dates and filling separate to avoid sogginess.
