Garlic Parmesan Fries are a flavorful twist on the classic French fry, tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce and topped with grated Parmesan cheese. They’re crispy, savory, and perfect for garlic lovers.

Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • Vegetable oil (for frying, about 4 cups)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the potatoes into thin sticks. Peel if desired.
  2. Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Drain and pat the fries completely dry with a clean towel or paper towels.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 300°F (150°C). Fry the potatoes in small batches for 4–5 minutes until soft but not browned. Remove and drain.
  5. Increase oil temperature to 375°F (190°C). Fry the potatoes again until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a small pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1–2 minutes. Do not brown the garlic.
  7. Place hot fries in a large bowl. Pour garlic butter over them and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan and chopped parsley (if using) over the fries and toss lightly.
  9. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • Double frying ensures a crispy texture.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
  • To avoid bitterness, do not overcook the garlic.
  • Customize with red pepper flakes, truffle oil, or mixed cheeses.
  • Oven and air fryer variations are available for a lighter version.
