Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
  • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles: Boil lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil: In a large pan or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the chicken: Add thinly sliced chicken to the pan and stir-fry until golden brown and fully cooked (about 5-6 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Sauté the garlic: In the same pan, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Combine everything: Return the chicken and noodles to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Toss well to coat.
  • Serve hot: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra veggies: Add bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, or mushrooms.
  • For a spicy version: Mix in red pepper flakes or Sriracha.
  • For a gluten-free option: Use rice noodles and gluten-free soy sauce.
  • For extra sauciness: Increase the soy sauce and oyster sauce for a richer flavor
