Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef Tacos are a mouthwatering blend of sweet, smoky, and savory flavors. Juicy beef is cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, then coated in a sticky honey BBQ glaze and served in warm tortillas with fresh toppings. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for taco nights, family dinners, or weekend gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef or beef strips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Honey BBQ Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For Serving:

  • 6 small tortillas (flour or corn)
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup diced red onions
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter, then add the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the beef, salt, and black pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, and smoked paprika.
  • Glaze the Beef: Pour the honey BBQ sauce into the skillet with the beef. Stir well to evenly coat the meat. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the beef.
  • Warm the Tortillas: Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until warm and pliable.
  • Assemble the Tacos: Fill each tortilla with the honey BBQ beef mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, diced red onions, shredded cheese, and fresh cilantro.
  • Serve: Garnish with lime wedges and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the BBQ sauce.
  • Swap beef for chicken,  or shrimp for a different take.
  • Use lettuce wraps instead of tortillas for a low-carb version.
  • Try melting cheese on the tortillas before adding the beef mixture for an extra cheesy touch.
