Ingredients

  • 1 package of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices or deli meats (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface.
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Add bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms to the skillet, cooking for 5 minutes until tender.
  • Stir in pepperoni (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  • Spoon the meat and veggie mixture over the sauce, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Carefully roll the dough, folding in the sides to seal the filling inside.
  • Place the roll seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Beat the egg and brush it over the top for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  • Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Vegetarian Option: Skip the meat and add extra veggies like spinach or olives.
  • Spicy Option: Add sliced jalapeños or chili flakes for a spicy twist.
  • Extra Cheesy: Double the cheese for an even gooier result.
