Frozen Pea Guacamole is a healthy and creative twist on traditional guacamole, using peas for added sweetness and texture while keeping all the creamy, zesty flavors you love.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  2. 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  3. 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  4. 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional)
  5. 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  6. 2 tbsp lime juice
  7. 1/4 tsp salt
  8. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  9. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  10. 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the ingredients: In a food processor or blender, add the thawed peas, avocados, red onion, jalapeño (if using), cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin.

  1. Pulse to combine: Pulse the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. For chunky guacamole, pulse a few times; for smoother guacamole, process longer.
  2. Adjust seasoning: Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning by adding more lime juice, salt, or pepper as needed.
  3. Serve: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, veggie sticks, or as a topping for tacos. Refrigerate for 30 minutes for the best flavor.

Notes

  1. If you prefer a spicier dip, add more jalapeño or cayenne pepper.
  2. For a different fresh flavor, swap cilantro with parsley or basil.
  3. If you don’t have lime, you can substitute with lemon juice.
  4. Adding diced tomatoes or corn can enhance the texture and flavor of the guacamole.
