Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions (for topping)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined and creamy.
  7. Fold in the cooked noodles until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Top with crispy fried onions and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
