Easy Pizza Dough Balls are soft, fluffy bite-sized versions of classic pizza dough—perfect for dipping, stuffing, or serving as a fun snack or party appetizer. Made with simple ingredients and no special equipment, they’re ready in just over an hour.

Ingredients

  1. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant or active dry yeast
  3. 3/4 cup warm water (105–110°F)
  4. 1 tbsp olive oil
  5. 1 tsp sugar
  6. 3/4 tsp salt
  7. Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  8. Optional: 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  9. Optional: melted butter, garlic, herbs for brushing

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes if using active dry yeast (skip if using instant yeast).

  1. Add olive oil, salt, and flour (plus garlic powder or herbs if using). Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes or until doubled.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide into 12–16 equal pieces. Roll into balls.
  5. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Optional: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with herbs or garlic while warm.

Notes

  1. For a fluffier texture, allow a second rise after shaping dough balls.
  2. Add mozzarella cubes inside each ball for a cheesy center.
  3. Bread flour can be used for a chewier dough.
  4. Let dough rise in a slightly warm oven (turned off) if your kitchen is cold.
