Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice (jasmine or basmati)
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, combine rice, coconut milk, water, salt, and sugar if using.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
