Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin (optional)
  • 1 cup salsa (jarred or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend cheese
  • Optional garnish: chopped cilantro, green onions, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish and arrange chicken breasts in a single layer.
  3. Season both sides of chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin (if using).
  4. Pour salsa evenly over the chicken to coat.
