Ingredients

  1. 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 2 teaspoons baking powder
  3. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  4. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 1 1/2 cups milk
  7. 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  8. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  10. 1 1/2 cups fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  11. Maple syrup or honey, for serving

Instructions

Steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in hot milk for 5–10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the milk cool slightly.

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and the cooled Earl Grey-infused milk.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Preheat a waffle iron and lightly grease it.
  5. Pour batter into the waffle maker and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Serve the waffles warm, topped with fresh mixed berries and a drizzle of maple syrup or honey.

Notes

  • For stronger tea flavor, steep the tea for up to 10 minutes.
  • Letting the batter rest for 5–10 minutes can improve texture.
  • Use a wire rack in a warm oven to keep waffles crispy before serving.
  • Make a berry compote or add whipped cream for extra indulgence.
  • Freeze leftovers and reheat in a toaster or oven for a quick breakfast.
