The Crunchy Chicken Caesar Sandwich takes the bold, tangy flavors of a Caesar salad and wraps them in a crispy, handheld sandwich. With golden fried chicken, creamy dressing, fresh romaine, and toasted buns, it’s a satisfying and elevated twist on a classic.

Ingredients

  1. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into cutlets)
  2. Salt and black pepper, to taste
  3. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  4. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  5. 2 large eggs, beaten
  6. 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  7. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  8. Vegetable oil, for frying
  9. 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  10. 1/3 cup Caesar dressing (homemade or store-bought)
  11. 4 sandwich rolls or brioche buns, toasted
  12. Optional: lemon juice, sliced tomatoes, extra Parmesan shavings

Instructions

Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to make 4 thin cutlets. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  1. Dredge each cutlet in flour, then dip into beaten eggs, and coat with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Toast the sandwich rolls or buns until golden.
  4. Toss chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing.
  5. Assemble sandwiches: place crispy chicken on the bottom bun, top with dressed lettuce, optional tomato slices or extra cheese, and finish with the top bun.
  6. Serve immediately while hot and crunchy.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • Bake or air-fry the chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add bacon or avocado for extra richness.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs and buns to make it gluten-free.
  • Prep chicken ahead and assemble fresh to retain crunch.
