The Crunchy Beef Tortilla Folded Wrap is a crispy, cheesy, and flavorful handheld meal that layers seasoned ground beef, gooey cheese, fresh veggies, and crunchy tortilla chips—all folded neatly inside a warm flour tortilla and grilled to golden perfection. It’s the ultimate Tex-Mex fusion of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas in one delicious bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tortilla chips or 4 small tostada shells
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil or butter (for grilling)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water; cook until thickened, then remove from heat.
  3. Lay a tortilla flat and make a single cut from the center to the edge.
  4. Divide the tortilla visually into four quadrants:
    • Quadrant 1: Spread sour cream and a bit of shredded lettuce.
    • Quadrant 2: Add the seasoned beef.
    • Quadrant 3: Place crushed tortilla chips or a tostada shell.
    • Quadrant 4: Sprinkle shredded cheese and diced tomatoes.
  5. Fold the tortilla: start with the first quadrant and fold over each section to form a layered triangle.
  6. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and brush lightly with oil or butter.
  7. Cook each folded wrap seam-side down for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.

Notes

  • Use flour tortillas for easier folding and a soft, chewy texture.
  • Press down gently with a spatula while grilling to seal the layers.
  • Brush the outside with butter for an extra golden, crispy finish.
  • Customize the fillings with chicken, beans, or veggies.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes for a quick, crisp alternative.
