Crispy Panko Breadcrumb Topping is a quick and flavorful mixture of toasted panko breadcrumbs, butter, garlic, and seasonings that adds a golden crunchy finish to many dishes. It’s perfect for sprinkling over pasta, casseroles, vegetables, or baked meals for extra texture and savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley or fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter and olive oil, allowing the butter to melt completely.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the panko breadcrumbs and mix well to coat them with the butter and oil mixture.
  4. Cook while stirring frequently so the breadcrumbs toast evenly.
  5. Continue cooking for about 3–5 minutes until the breadcrumbs turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and parsley if using.
  8. Remove from heat and allow the topping to cool slightly before using.
