Ingredients

  • Protein: Ground chicken
  • Vegetables: Shredded cabbage, julienned carrots, chopped green onions
  • Aromatics: Minced garlic and ginger
  • Seasonings: Soy sauce, sesame oil
  • Wrappers: Egg roll wrappers
  • Sealing: Cornstarch and water mixture
  • Frying Oil: Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling – Cook the ground  chicken in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add vegetables – Stir in cabbage, carrots, garlic, and ginger. Cook until softened.
  3. Season – Mix in soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions. Let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. Assemble the egg rolls – Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, add filling, fold in sides, roll tightly, and seal with cornstarch-water mixture.
  5. Heat the oil – In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the egg rolls – Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Drain and serve – Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze uncooked egg rolls on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
  • Reheating: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes or air fry for 5 minutes to maintain crispiness.
