Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta is a rich, velvety dish combining garlic, tomatoes, and cream to create a comforting, flavorful sauce tossed with perfectly cooked pasta. It’s quick, indulgent, and easy to customize.

Ingredients

  1. 12 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
  2. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  3. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes or tomato puree
  5. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  6. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  7. 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or 1/2 tsp each dried basil and oregano
  8. Salt and pepper to taste
  9. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  10. Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5–7 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream. Simmer gently for another 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  7. Toss in the cooked pasta and stir to coat evenly. Add a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with chopped fresh herbs and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  1. Use canned tomato sauce if crushed tomatoes are unavailable.
  2. Make it vegan by using plant-based cream and cheese.
  3. Reheat with a splash of milk or cream to restore texture.
  4. Not recommended for freezing due to the dairy content.
  5. Customize with added protein or vegetables.
