Creamy Steak Pasta is a rich and comforting meal that combines juicy, seared steak slices with a creamy garlic-Parmesan sauce and your favorite pasta. It’s quick, indulgent, and perfect for both casual and special dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip)
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine, penne, or preferred type)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and sear steak for 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until desired doneness. Remove from pan and let rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
  4. Lower the heat to medium. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Use reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
  7. Return sliced steak to the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for 1–2 minutes to warm through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Let steak rest after cooking to retain its juices.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Customize with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or white wine in the sauce.
  • If using leftover steak, add it at the end just to warm through to avoid overcooking.
