  • 1/3 cup prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
  2. Stir in prepared horseradish, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
  5. Fold in chopped chives if using.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to develop.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by increasing or decreasing horseradish.
  • Flavor improves when made several hours in advance.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Freezing is not recommended due to dairy separation.
