Cream Cheese Sausage Dip is a warm, rich, and cheesy appetizer made with savory sausage, cream cheese, and zesty diced tomatoes with green chilies. Quick to make and always a hit at parties or game day gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (e.g., Rotel, undrained)
  • Optional: sliced green onions, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños (for garnish)
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or bread slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Reduce heat to low, add cream cheese, and stir until melted and combined.
  4. Stir in the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies (including juices) and heat through.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish or keep warm in a slow cooker set to low.
  6. Garnish with optional toppings and serve hot with chips, crackers, or bread.

Notes

  • Use spicy sausage and tomatoes for extra heat.
  • Stir in shredded cheese for a richer dip.
  • Great for slow cookers—just mix and heat on low after browning the sausage.
  • Add a splash of milk or cream when reheating to loosen texture.
  • Pairs well with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced baguette.
