The Cookie Dough Milkshake combines the rich, indulgent flavors of homemade cookie dough with creamy ice cream and milk for a decadent treat. It’s easy to make, customizable, and perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • For the cookie dough:
    • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (softened)
    • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    • 1 cup of all-purpose flour (heat-treated, see instructions below)
    • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
    • 2 tablespoons of milk
    • 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips
  • For the milkshake:
    • 2 cups of vanilla ice cream
    • 1/2 cup of milk (more if needed for desired consistency)
    • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    • Optional: extra mini chocolate chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the Cookie Dough: Heat treat the flour: Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely before using it in the dough.
  2. Make the cookie dough: Beat together softened butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and milk, mixing until combined.
  3. Add flour and salt: Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
  4. Form cookie dough chunks: Leave the dough as is or roll into small dough balls or chunks for the milkshake. Set aside.
  5. For the Milkshake: Blend the milkshake: In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream, milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the cookie dough: Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cookie dough chunks to the blender, pulsing a few times to incorporate dough, leaving some chunks for texture.
  7. Serve: Pour into glasses and top with extra cookie dough chunks, mini chocolate chips, or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Try different flavors of cookie dough, like peanut butter or chocolate chip, for a unique twist.
  • If you want a thicker milkshake, add more ice cream or less milk. Frozen cookie dough chunks also help thicken it.
  • For a vegan version, use dairy-free ice cream, plant-based milk, and dairy-free butter.
