Ingredients

Tortilla chips

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup salsa

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup diced red onions

1/4 cup chopped green onions

Sour cream (optional for serving)

Guacamole (optional for serving)

Jalapeño slices (optional for extra heat)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish.

  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat and stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  • Spoon the seasoned ground beef mixture over the tortilla chips, ensuring an even distribution.

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the beef and chips.

  • Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

  • Remove from the oven and top with sliced black olives, diced tomatoes, red onions, and green onions.

  • Serve immediately with optional sides like sour cream, guacamole, or jalapeños

Notes

  • For variations, consider using black beans or refried beans for a vegetarian option, or substitute chicken for a lighter alternative.

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days, though nachos are best enjoyed fresh. Reheat by warming them in the oven.
