Classic Pico De Gallo is a fresh and vibrant salsa made with diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and jalapeño. It delivers bright flavor and crisp texture, making it perfect for tacos, chips, grilled meats, and many other dishes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1/3 cup white onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and dice the tomatoes into small, even pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Finely chop the white onion and add it to the bowl.
  3. Chop the fresh cilantro and stir it into the mixture.
  4. Add the finely chopped jalapeño.
  5. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the ingredients.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Gently mix everything together until evenly combined.
  8. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes so the flavors blend.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  10. Serve fresh with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled meats, or other dishes.

  • Roma tomatoes work well because they are firm and less watery.
  • Remove some tomato seeds to reduce excess liquid.
