Classic peanut butter blossoms are soft, chewy peanut butter cookies topped with a sweet chocolate kiss pressed into the center. These nostalgic cookies are perfect for holidays, parties, or anytime you need a simple and delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 36 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)
  • 1/4 cup additional granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll each in the additional granulated sugar.
  7. Place dough balls on baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are set and tops begin to crack.
  9. Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Press chocolate kisses into cookies immediately after baking for best results.
  • For extra chewiness, use more brown sugar than white sugar.
  • Cookies freeze well—store in layers separated by parchment.
  • Try using holiday-themed kisses or colored sugar for festive versions.
