Chocolate Covered Blueberries are a quick and easy treat combining juicy fresh blueberries with smooth melted chocolate. Perfect for snacking, gifting, or entertaining, they’re bite-sized, customizable, and naturally gluten-free.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup fresh blueberries
  2. 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (dark, milk, or white)
  3. 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother melted chocolate)

Instructions

Wash and thoroughly dry the blueberries. Ensure no moisture remains, as it can prevent the chocolate from sticking.

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the chocolate and coconut oil (if using) until smooth.
  2. Let the melted chocolate cool slightly to avoid overheating the berries.
  3. Add the blueberries to the bowl and gently stir to coat them evenly with chocolate.
  4. Using a fork or slotted spoon, lift out individual berries or small clusters and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Ensure blueberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • Use dark chocolate for a rich flavor or white chocolate for sweetness.
  • Chill on parchment or silicone mats to prevent sticking.
  • Do not freeze as texture may degrade.
  • Great for party trays, homemade gifts, or healthy desserts.
