Chocolate covered apple slices are a fun and easy treat that combines crisp apples with rich, melted chocolate. Perfect for snacks, parties, or healthier desserts, they’re customizable with various toppings and simple enough for kids to help make.

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (dark, milk, or white)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, granola, sea salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  2. Slice apples into ¼ to ½-inch rounds or wedges, removing seeds and core parts.
  3. Pat apple slices dry with a paper towel.
  4. Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals or use a double boiler. Stir in coconut oil if using.
  5. Dip each apple slice halfway or fully in the melted chocolate. Let excess drip off.
  6. Place slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle with desired toppings while chocolate is still wet.
  8. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until chocolate is set.
  9. Serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Use lemon water dip to prevent apple browning before dipping in chocolate.
  • Store slices in a single layer to prevent sticking.
  • Wedges are easier for dipping and serving if preferred over rounds.
