Preheat oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare chicken: Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Set up breading station: Place flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and bread crumbs mixed with Parmesan in a third.
- Bread chicken: Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, and coat in bread crumb mixture.
- Fry chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden.
- Assemble: Transfer chicken to a baking dish, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with mozzarella.
- Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is melted and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish & serve: Top with fresh basil or parsley before serving. Serve hot with pasta, bread, or salad.
