Chicken Goujons are crispy, golden strips of tender chicken coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and cooked to perfection. Crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, they’re perfect for quick dinners, snacks, or party platters and pair wonderfully with your favorite dipping sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying or cooking spray for baking

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts into even strips about 1 inch wide.
  2. Prepare three shallow bowls: place flour in the first; whisk eggs and milk in the second; combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in the third.
  3. Dip each chicken strip into the flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. For frying, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Cook in batches for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  5. For baking, preheat oven to 400°F. Place coated strips on a lined baking sheet, lightly spray with cooking spray, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and fully cooked.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking.
  • Pat chicken dry before coating to help breadcrumbs stick.
  • Air-fry at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Freeze cooked goujons for up to 2 months and reheat in the oven.
