Chicken Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a creamy and savory pasta dish made with tender chicken, a rich garlic parmesan sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta. It’s a versatile, comforting meal that works for both weeknights and special occasions.

Ingredients

  1. 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  2. 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  3. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 cup heavy cream
  5. 1 cup chicken broth
  6. 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  7. 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, penne, or preferred type)
  8. 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  9. Salt and black pepper, to taste
  10. Optional: red pepper flakes, to taste
  11. Optional: chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water, and set aside.

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil or butter. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more butter if needed and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Whisk in parmesan cheese until smooth. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.
  6. Return chicken to skillet, add cooked pasta, and toss until fully coated.
  7. Garnish with parsley and extra parmesan before serving.

Notes

  1. Add vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
  2. Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
  3. Freshly grated parmesan gives the best flavor and texture.
  4. For a spicy version, add extra red pepper flakes.
