Cheesy ramen is a quick and indulgent twist on traditional instant noodles, combining the savory flavors of ramen with a creamy, cheesy sauce for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  1. packet of instant ramen (flavor of your choice)
1 cup shredd1 ed cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
1/4 cup milk (or heavy cream for a richer texture)
    1 tablespoon butter
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
    Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Cook the Ramen: Bring a pot of water to a boil (usually 2 cups). Add the ramen noodles and cook according to the instructions on the package, usually for about 3-4 minutes. Be sure to discard the seasoning packet if you’re making your own cheesy broth.

  1. Make the Cheesy Broth: While the ramen is cooking, melt the butter in a separate small saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the milk and stir until combined. Let the milk heat up for a minute or two, then slowly add in the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously to create a smooth, creamy cheese sauce. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  2. Combine Noodles and Cheese Sauce: Once the ramen noodles are cooked, drain any excess water (leave a little bit for the broth if you like). Add the cheese sauce to the noodles, stirring to combine thoroughly until the noodles are fully coated with the creamy cheese mixture.
  3. Serve: Once the noodles are coated in the cheesy sauce, transfer them to a bowl, and enjoy immediately. You can garnish with extra cheese, chopped green onions, or even a sprinkle of chili flakes for a spicy kick.

Notes

  • Cheesy ramen is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Reheat with a splash of milk and more cheese if needed.
  • You can experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella, gouda, or parmesan for varying flavors.
  • Spicy options include chili paste, sriracha, or red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • For a lighter version, use olive oil instead of butter or a dairy-free alternative like almond milk or coconut milk.
