A hearty cheesy ground beef sandwich made with savory seasoned beef simmered in a rich sauce and topped with melted cheddar cheese. Served on toasted rolls, it is a comforting and satisfying meal perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 4 sandwich rolls or hamburger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup pickle slices (optional)
  • 1/2 cup lettuce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Stir well and simmer for about 5 minutes to develop flavor.
  7. Butter the sandwich rolls and toast them in a skillet or oven until golden.
  8. Spoon the warm ground beef mixture onto the bottom half of each roll.
  9. Place cheddar cheese slices on top of the beef and allow them to melt.
  10. Add optional pickles or lettuce, close the sandwich, and serve.
