Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls are a quick and delicious meal with a creamy chicken and cheese filling wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish is easy to make and loved by all.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  2. 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  3. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  4. 1/4 cup sour cream
  5. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  6. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  7. Salt and pepper, to taste
  8. 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  9. 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)
  10. 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  1. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until the mixture is well combined and creamy.
  2. Prepare the crescent rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a flat surface, separating it into individual triangles.
  3. Fill the rolls: Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Roll up the dough starting from the wide end, making sure the filling is tucked inside as you go.
  4. Place on baking sheet: Place the filled crescent rolls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  5. Brush with butter: Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the melted butter for a golden, buttery finish. If you like, sprinkle a little shredded mozzarella cheese on top for extra cheesy goodness.
  6. Bake: Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy while hot!

Notes

  • For a faster meal, use store-bought rotisserie chicken.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the filling for extra nutrition.
  • Substitute mozzarella for other cheeses like Swiss or Monterey Jack for different flavor profiles.
  • For a spicy version, add hot sauce, jalapeños, or red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
