  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup baking mix (or gluten-free baking mix)
  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, combine sausage, cheddar cheese, baking mix, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.
  3. Mix until fully combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
  4. Roll the mixture into evenly sized balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes until cooked through and lightly golden.
  6. Brush warm sausage balls with melted butter for extra flavor.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use spicy sausage for extra heat or a sharp cheddar blend for bolder flavor.
  • Add cayenne pepper or smoked paprika for depth.
  • Pair with dipping sauces like honey mustard, ranch, or aioli.
  • Prepare and shape in advance for convenience; bake when ready.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze cooked or uncooked sausage balls for up to 2 months.
