Cardamom Milk is a warm, fragrant drink made by infusing milk with the delicate spice of cardamom. Smooth, aromatic, and soothing, this beverage is perfect for relaxation, offering a creamy and comforting flavor that’s naturally caffeine-free and beautifully spiced.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or non-dairy such as almond or oat milk)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom or 2 crushed green cardamom pods
  • 12 tsp honey, sugar, or maple syrup (to taste)
  • Pinch of saffron threads (optional)
  • 1 tsp chopped pistachios or almonds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  2. Add ground cardamom or lightly crushed cardamom pods.
  3. If using saffron, add it now to infuse color and aroma.
  4. Heat until steaming but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let steep for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Strain if using pods or saffron threads.
  7. Stir in honey or preferred sweetener to taste.
  8. Pour into a mug and garnish with chopped nuts if desired.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy the soothing flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh cardamom pods for the most vibrant flavor.
  • Non-dairy milk such as almond or oat gives a lighter, nutty flavor.
  • Add turmeric for a golden milk variation with extra health benefits.
  • Avoid boiling to prevent milk from scorching.
  • Can be served cold over ice for a refreshing summer drink.
