Buffalo Chicken Tacos are spicy, tangy, and creamy tacos made with shredded chicken tossed in buffalo sauce, wrapped in soft tortillas, and topped with cool, crunchy toppings like lettuce, ranch, and cheese. They’re quick, easy, and full of bold flavor—perfect for busy nights or game day.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, to mellow the sauce)
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, combine shredded chicken and buffalo sauce. Add butter if desired for a milder flavor.
  2. Cook for 3–4 minutes until heated through and evenly coated.
  3. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
  4. Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture into each tortilla.
  5. Top with lettuce, cheese, ranch or blue cheese dressing, celery, and green onions.
  6. Add a sprinkle of blue cheese crumbles if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with extra buffalo sauce or dressing on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust buffalo sauce amount for your preferred spice level.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for faster prep.
  • Serve in lettuce wraps for a low-carb version.
  • Keep toppings separate if making ahead to prevent sogginess.
  • Toast tortillas lightly for a crispier texture.
