Brownies are rich, chocolatey dessert bars with a moist, fudgy center and a classic crackly top. Easy to make with pantry staples, they are perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or satisfying a sweet craving.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and glossy.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For fudgier brownies, slightly reduce the flour and avoid overbaking.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Warm in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds for a soft texture.
