Blueberry Tea is a fruity, aromatic beverage that combines the gentle flavors of tea with the natural sweetness and tang of blueberries. It can be enjoyed hot or iced, offering a refreshing, antioxidant-rich drink perfect for any season.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 cups water
  • 12 tsp honey, sugar, or maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 black, green, or herbal tea bag (such as chamomile or hibiscus)
  • Fresh mint or lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries and water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, until the blueberries start to burst.
  3. Mash the blueberries lightly with a spoon to release their juices.
  4. Remove from heat and add the tea bag. Steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
  5. Strain the mixture into mugs or a pitcher, discarding the solids.
  6. Stir in honey or your preferred sweetener and lemon juice if using.
  7. Serve warm, or let cool and pour over ice for an iced version.
  8. Garnish with mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • Use frozen blueberries when fresh ones are out of season.
  • Herbal teas like chamomile or hibiscus create a caffeine-free option.
  • For a stronger flavor, steep the tea longer or use extra tea bags.
  • Add lemon or mint for extra brightness and aroma.
  • Perfect for serving hot in winter or iced during summer.
