Blueberry Cream Cheese Pastry Bites are flaky puff pastry squares filled with sweetened cream cheese and juicy blueberries, baked until golden and finished with powdered sugar or glaze. Perfect for brunch, dessert, or party platters.

Ingredients

  1. 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  2. 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  3. 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  4. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  5. 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  6. 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  7. 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional, for dusting or glaze)
  8. 12 tsp lemon juice (optional, for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Cut puff pastry sheets into 2–3 inch squares.
  3. Place 1 tsp cream cheese filling in the center of each square, then top with 2–3 blueberries.
  4. Fold corners slightly inward or pinch edges to form small parcels.
  5. Brush tops with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with a lemon glaze if desired.

Notes

  1. Use frozen blueberries directly without thawing to avoid excess moisture.
  2. If puff pastry gets too warm, chill before baking for better rise.
  3. Try raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries as a fruit variation.
  4. Press pastry into mini muffin tins for neater presentation.
  5. For a savory version, skip fruit and use herbed cream cheese instead.
