Black truffle butter is a luxurious yet simple condiment that transforms everyday dishes into gourmet experiences. Rich, earthy, and aromatic, it blends creamy butter with finely grated black truffle for an elegant finishing touch.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh black truffle, finely grated or minced
  • 1 teaspoon truffle oil (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove the butter from the refrigerator and allow it to soften at room temperature until pliable but not melted.
  2. Finely grate or mince the black truffle so the flavor distributes evenly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, grated truffle, truffle oil (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  4. Mix thoroughly with a spatula or fork until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  5. Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper and shape it into a log by rolling tightly and twisting the ends.
  6. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Slice into 1/4-inch rounds and serve over hot dishes just before serving.

Notes

  • For garlic truffle butter, add 1 small clove of finely minced garlic.
  • For herb truffle butter, mix in 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley, thyme, or chives.
  • Add a pinch of lemon zest to brighten the flavor.
  • Store tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months and slice as needed.
