BBQ Chicken is a smoky, tangy, and slightly sweet dish featuring juicy chicken coated in rich barbecue sauce. Perfect for grilling, baking, or stovetop cooking, it’s a crowd-pleasing favorite for dinners, cookouts, and game days.

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbs chicken pieces (breasts, thighs, drumsticks, or wings)
  2. Salt and pepper, to taste
  3. 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for grilling or baking)
  4. 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  5. 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  6. 1 tsp onion powder (optional)

Instructions

Preheat grill or oven to 375°F (190°C).

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and optional garlic/onion powder.
  2. Grilling: Oil grates and cook chicken 6–8 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. Baking: Arrange chicken on a lined baking sheet and bake 25–35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. In the last 5–10 minutes, brush BBQ sauce generously on both sides of the chicken.
  5. Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.

Notes

  1. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
  2. For deeper flavor, marinate chicken in BBQ sauce for 1–2 hours before cooking.
  3. Finish baked chicken under the broiler for a caramelized glaze.
  4. Great for shredding and using in sandwiches, tacos, or salads.
