BBQ Chicken Flatbreads are quick and flavorful pizza-style flatbreads topped with tender barbecue-coated chicken, melty cheese, and fresh toppings, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 flatbreads or naan
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce, divided
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Optional toppings:
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup corn kernels
  • Ranch dressing for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss the cooked chicken with 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Place flatbreads on the prepared baking sheet and lightly brush edges with olive oil. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the remaining barbecue sauce evenly over each flatbread.
  5. Top evenly with BBQ chicken.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the chicken.
  7. Add sliced red onions and any optional toppings as desired.
  8. Bake for 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are crisp.
  9. Remove from oven and cool slightly.
  10. Garnish with chopped cilantro, slice, and serve warm.

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker preparation.
  • Pre-bake flatbreads for 3–4 minutes for extra crispness.
  • Swap cheddar for smoked gouda for a smoky flavor.
  • For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free flatbreads.
