Bang Bang Chicken features crispy fried chicken bites tossed in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce made with mayonnaise, chili sauce, and sriracha. It’s a bold and addictive dish perfect for appetizers or a main course.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch or flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional)
  • 1 tsp lime juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Prepare two bowls: one with beaten eggs, the other with cornstarch or flour.
  3. Dip each chicken piece in egg, then coat in cornstarch or flour.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or pan.
  5. Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth.
  7. Toss fried chicken in sauce or drizzle sauce over chicken just before serving for extra crunch.
  8. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Toss chicken in sauce just before serving to maintain crispiness.
  • Use Greek yogurt as a mayo substitute for a lighter sauce.
  • Air frying or baking is a great alternative to deep frying for a lighter version.
