Balsamic Roasted Broccoli is a flavorful side dish featuring tender broccoli florets roasted to crispy perfection and tossed with a tangy balsamic glaze, balancing caramelized sweetness and savory depth.

Ingredients

  1. 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
    3 tablespoons olive oil
    Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
Optional: grated Parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  1. Toss broccoli florets with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.
  2. Spread in a single layer and roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until tender and caramelized.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk balsamic vinegar and honey or maple syrup if using.
  4. Drizzle balsamic glaze over roasted broccoli and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Optional: sprinkle with Parmesan or red pepper flakes.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

  1. Add minced garlic before roasting for extra flavor.
  2. Toss with toasted almonds or pine nuts for crunch.
  3. Use lemon juice instead of balsamic for a citrus twist.
  4. Mix in cherry tomatoes or sliced red onions before roasting.
  5. Sprinkle with nutritional yeast for vegan cheesy flavor.
  6. Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days.
  7. Reheat in oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or microwave.
