Baked tilapia is a light and flavorful dish featuring tender fish seasoned with a zesty blend of spices and baked to perfection. It’s a healthy and quick meal that can be paired with rice, vegetables, or a salad for a complete dinner.

Ingredients

  1. 4 tilapia fillets (fresh or thawed)
  2. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  3. 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  7. 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  8. Salt and pepper, to taste
  9. Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  10. Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Drizzle the tilapia fillets with olive oil and lemon juice. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme (if using), salt, and pepper evenly over the fish.
  3. Place the seasoned tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Remove from the oven and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.

Notes

  • Leftover tilapia can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • If using frozen tilapia, thaw completely before baking and pat dry to avoid excess moisture.
  • For a more intense garlic flavor, you can add freshly minced garlic to the seasoning mix.
