Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns
  • 812 cooked breaded chicken tenders or patties
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: fresh basil for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping tops and bottoms intact.
  3. Place the bottom bun layer in a greased baking dish.
  4. Arrange the cooked breaded chicken tenders or patties in a single layer over the buns.
  5. Spoon marinara sauce evenly over the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  7. Place the top bun layer over the cheese.
  8. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning, then brush over the buns.
  9. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake 5–7 more minutes until golden and the cheese is melted.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  12. Top with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • Use Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter flavor.
  • Avoid too much marinara to prevent soggy buns.
  • Air fry leftovers briefly to restore crispiness.
  • Add ricotta for a creamier filling.
