Baked Brie with Fig Jam and Pecans is an elegant and easy-to-make appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings or dinner parties. With a creamy brie cheese topped with sweet fig jam, toasted pecans, and a hint of honey, this dish offers a delicious balance of sweet and savory flavors that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 8-10 oz wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Brie: If the brie is in a wooden box, remove it and unwrap the cheese. Place the brie back in the box or in a small baking dish.
  • Score the Brie: Score the top of the brie in a crisscross pattern to help the jam soak into the cheese.
  • Add the Toppings: Spread the fig jam evenly over the top of the brie. If using nuts, honey, or herbs, sprinkle them over the jam.
  • Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the brie is soft and gooey.
  • Serve: Allow the brie to cool for 5 minutes before serving with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit

Notes

  • Nutty Delight: Add walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • Herbal Twist: Try rosemary or thyme in the fig jam for a fragrant note.
  • Sweet Swap: Substitute fig jam with apricot or raspberry preserves for a different flavor.
  • Savory Addition: Top with caramelized onions for a savory twist
