Crispy, golden Air Fryer Tortellini with a tender, cheesy center — a quick and irresistible appetizer or snack that pairs perfectly with marinara, pesto, or creamy dipping sauces.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (about 9 oz / 250 g) cheese tortellini (fresh, refrigerated, or thawed if frozen)
  • 12 tbsp olive oil (or neutral oil)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • (Optional) ¼ cup breadcrumbs, for extra crunch
  • Cooking spray or oil mist, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (≈ 350°F).
  2. Cook or soften the tortellini: Boil tortellini in salted water until just al dente (especially if fresh or thawed). Drain and pat dry thoroughly.
  3. Season: In a bowl, toss tortellini with olive oil, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. For a crispier result, dip each piece in beaten egg and breadcrumbs after seasoning.
  4. Arrange in air fryer: Place tortellini in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with oil to promote even browning.
  5. Air fry for 7–10 minutes, shaking or turning halfway through, until golden and crisp. Add 1–2 minutes for extra crunch if needed.
  6. Serve: Garnish with extra Parmesan or herbs. Serve warm with marinara, pesto, or garlic butter dip.

Notes

  • Dry the tortellini well before coating to prevent sogginess.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer; work in batches for best texture.
  • If using frozen tortellini, thaw or parboil first for even cooking.
  • Breadcrumb coating gives a crunchier texture but is optional.
  • Serve immediately — they lose crispness as they cool.
