Air Fryer Tofu Nuggets are crispy, golden bites of plant-based protein made with seasoned tofu and cooked to perfection in the air fryer. They’re perfect for snacking, dipping, or adding to meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or spray oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tbsp nutritional yeast or 1/4 cup breadcrumbs for extra crunch

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into nugget-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, toss tofu with olive oil or lightly spray with oil.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Coat the tofu pieces in the seasoning mix until evenly coated.
  5. Place tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

  • Use extra-firm tofu for best texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer—cook in batches if needed.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
  • Customize seasonings based on your favorite flavor profile.
