Ingredients

  1. 1 pound frozen French fries (or fresh potatoes, cut into fries)
  2. 1 tablespoon olive oil (if using fresh potatoes)
  3. 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or more, to taste)
  4. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  5. 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional for extra melt)
  6. 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  7. Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
  8. For the Nacho Sauce:
  9. 1/2 cup nacho cheese (store-bought or homemade)
  10. 1 tablespoon milk (to thin out the sauce, if needed)
  11. 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, for a spicy kick)

Instructions

Prepare the fries: For fresh potatoes, peel and cut them into fries. Toss with olive oil and sprinkle taco seasoning. If using frozen fries, skip this step.

  1. Air fry the fries: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway, until crispy.
  2. Make the nacho sauce: In a saucepan, heat nacho cheese with milk over low heat, stirring until smooth. Add hot sauce for extra spice if desired.
  3. Assemble the nacho fries: Once fries are crispy, place them in a dish, sprinkle with shredded cheese, then drizzle with nacho sauce.
  4. Serve: Top with sour cream, chopped green onions, and serve hot.

Notes

  1. Spicy Nacho Fries: Add jalapeños or extra hot sauce for more heat.
  2. Meat Lovers: Add taco meat or seasoned ground beef for a heartier version.
  3. Cheese Lovers: Try a blend of cheddar, Monterey Jack, and pepper jack cheese.
