Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Yellow Beans are crisp-tender, vibrant, and bursting with bright citrus flavor. Quickly cooked and lightly seasoned, they make a simple, refreshing side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh yellow wax beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Pat the trimmed yellow beans dry thoroughly.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the beans with olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until tender with lightly crisp edges.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
  7. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Substitute green beans if yellow beans are unavailable.
  • Top with toasted almonds or crushed walnuts for added crunch.
  • Add a small amount of garlic powder before cooking for extra flavor.
  • Omit Parmesan or use a dairy-free alternative to keep the dish dairy-free.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to restore crispness.
