Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crispy with a sticky, sweet, and savory glaze. The air fryer crisps the skin beautifully without extra oil, making this a quick and healthier meal option.

Ingredients

  1. 4-6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
Optional: chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar.
  3. Lightly brush chicken thighs with olive oil.
  4. Place chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 12 minutes, then flip the chicken.
  6. Brush the honey garlic sauce generously over the chicken.
  7. Cook for another 8-10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C) and skin is crispy.
  8. Brush with more sauce before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  1. Use boneless chicken thighs for faster cooking.
  2. Add ginger or chili flakes to the sauce for extra flavor.
  3. Substitute maple syrup or brown sugar for honey.
  4. Serve with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables.
  5. Toss cooked chicken in extra sauce for saucier wings.
